And so begins the Øya Festival. Been looking forward to this all summer. Also I just bought at HTC Hero Android phone, I really like it so far and I can’t wait to use it to it’s full extent.
So it seems as if summer has left the town of Trondheim for this season. Autumn is fastly gaining ground. Goodbye blue sky.
One of my all time favourite bands are finally coming out with a new album this year. Check out http://www.flaminglips.com/ for a cool music video (vimeo didn’t like me so no embedding) and also http://covertcuriosity.blogspot.com/2009/07/new-flaming-lips.html for two more tracks. Check it out!

Lately I have been reading for my exams and I always need to have some nice music floating in the background. When reading I need something sweet that I can easily ignore, it’s there but I don’t have to actively listen to it to enjoy it. Here comes Air to the rescue. Their sweet sweet electronica floats on a breeze (except maybe 10 000 HZ) so it’s perfect for my reading needs. Here are some Spotify links (press the images).

I love the electronic sounds of Ugress. The man behind it all is named Gisle Mortens Mayer and I read his blog to stay up to date with his various music projects and to get a glimpse into his music production process. He is currently in the process of releasing his fourth Ugress album wich is called Reminiscience (cover is showed under). As always he promotes his releases with free singles and EPs, the last one is called It Was A Great Year (For Music With Robots) and it’s in my personal opinion a great and basic electronica track with some very cool sounding robot singing. Check it out by clicking on the links under the cover of Reminiscience or by playing the embedded Soundcloud wigdet.
Can’t wait for this to be released on June 15th
I love Google Trends, so fun to compare weird stuff in trends on the web, like flu seasons or festival seasons. Here is one cool example, courtesy of Google Trends Gagdet.
It’s kinda sad to se how Quart dies if you view the total stats when pressing max (for all years back to about 2004)
Epic, just epic.
So I just found this thing called Boffin. It’s a program made by the guys at last.fm that lets you play you’r music library based on tags, a feature I have been missing since I started to use library based players like iTunes. Check it out if you like cool new experimental tech. Also below is a image made from my music collection tags, that I made using Boffin and Wordle.
