It never seizes to amaze me what people are afraid of, or maybe I should say what people don’t understand. In recent years the religion of Islam has become a much popular fear in many places of the world. Even people that pride themself on freedom and ironicly where founded by people seeking religious freedom have strange and certainly irrational fears of this trendy object to fear. Also this is proves that there are people with brains also living in this world.
This same subject matter was prominent in last years presidential election in the good old U.S of A. The allegations that Obama was a follower of the Islamic faith is scary on many levels as the president said himself that it was not true and that it played on the prejudices that apparently many americans (and no doubt large parts of the western world) have.
Would you not trust this man if he liked Allah instead of Jesus?
There are certain mindsets that we as humans seem to have incorporated into our genes that make us fear what we don’t understand (or in some cases we fear what we are told to fear). Irrational fear is definitivly on my top ten list of great human faults, it should be dealt with as all things should be dealt with, namely talking and learning. Or in the great words of Jamie Kennedy : “Don’t be hatin”.
